Alice Joyce

I am a good listener, curious about people and what brought them to be who they are today. It is my aim to offer a safe, open and inclusive environment whereby we can understand you as a unique individual.
You may find yourself going through a challenging time, I can support you through a range of issues including loss and grief, relationship difficulties and family conflict, work-related stress, life transitions and facing important decisions, anxiety and depression.

Training and experience
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and registered member of the BACP, I abide by their ethical framework and am DBS checked.
The therapy I provide is informed by the extensive training I have received, in Transaction Analysis at London's Metanoia Institute where I qualified as a psychotherapeutic counsellor. I am continuing my personal development by working towards an MSc in psychotherapy and have additional training in couples therapy.

How I work
I offer a warm, compassionate space for people to explore themselves and their lives. Alongside this, I work relationally, meaning the quality of the therapeutic relationship is integral to the work we do together.
Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes. Some people are aware of the reason for seeking out therapy before the first session, for others, it may take a little time for this to emerge.
During our first session, we will spend some time exploring what life is like for you to help us understand your reasons for coming to therapy and how we might support you on your journey to feeling better.
During this we will discuss if therapy is right for you and explore how we might work together to ensure you are making the right decision for yourself.

Who I work with
I work with adult (18+) individuals and couples.
