CHRISTY TILNEY

Training and Experience
I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with the BACP, and I have a Master's degree in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. This means I’m trained in different types of therapy and can adapt my approach to suit your individual needs and goals.

Who I work with
I help adults (18 and over) who are going through emotional or relationship difficulties. I offer one-to-one support in a safe, caring, and respectful space where we can work together to better understand what you're feeling and find ways to move forward.

How I Work
My practice is informed by psychodynamic and humanistic approaches. This means we’ll look at how your past experiences might be affecting you now, while also focusing on building self-compassion, personal growth, and creating the future you want.

In our work together, we can:
• Explore and challenge unhelpful beliefs that may be holding you back
• Build self-compassion and calm your inner critic
• Gently work through past pain, grief, or trauma at your own pace
• Strengthen your ability to set boundaries and form healthy relationships
• Get clarity on what matters to you and what direction you want to take in life

My aim is to help you feel truly seen, understood, and confident to make meaningful, lasting changes.

We’ll start with a short phone call to get to know each other. If you decide to move forward, our first full session will focus more deeply on what you’d like to talk about and work on. If it feels right for you, we can agree to work together for a short-term (6–12 weeks) or longer-term (12+ weeks) period. Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place once a week.

Qualifications:
I have an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Roehampton University.

Fee
My fee is £70 per session and I do offer reduced rates.
